SHIBUYA DAY'S

Today we took a day trip into Shibuya and as a special treat Emi's brother Shin treated us to sushi! Before you read any further I suggest you consult the instructional video provided by the Japan Culture Lab. It may take a moment to load...

It really was delicious! This is a "kaitenzushi", which means that it is the type of sushi place where the plates of food travel around on a conveyor and you just pick what you like. When you are done you simply pay according to how many plates you have eaten.

This place charges ¥105 per plate. That's about $1.

After we ate we met up with Megumi, an old friend from my WOLBI days. It was good to see her again. It's been 3 or 4 years but she hasn't really changed ;)

We spent the afternoon just walking around and shopping. I didn't buy any thing though. Its a little expensive. Shibuya is kind of a mixture of New York City, Las Vegas and Hollywood California. Walking around the streets reminded me of an amusement park. There was really no traffic, just people every where, and nothing but shops and arcades and restaurants. Every where there are people shouting advertisements, and enticing you to examine their goods or enter their shop. At all the busy street corners there are people handing out flyers or small samples of things with advertisements on them as well.

Tomorrow is Sunday and I will be giving my testimony in both services. I Think Kato Sensei will be translating. It should be fun, because I will finally get to meet every one!

Do I see you playing Mario Kart Arcade :o

I'm glad to see that you are having a great time. You are so lucky! I will be praying for you, as well as our entire church (you were listed on the prayer bulletin).

Can't wait to see more...

Hahaha, did you incline your head exactly 45 degrees while eating the Sushi?

Is that video a real guide, or do most people eat a bit more casually then that?

Heh...actually the video is supposed to be a satire, although it does sort of sum up the experiance.

Now, we need to take some pictures of you actually working.

Jamey! Great to hear from you. I hope you guys had a good trip back home. How is it without the kids around for a change? I will email you shin's email address so you guys can figure out how you want to send the pictures.

Emery!
I know your life is very exciting right now, but first things first. How can I get one of those freaking Panda Heads! That is wicked awesome! Anyway, I miss you bro and it is great to see pictures and written word about your adventures. I guess the ninja training really can't be posted. I hope I didn't just get you busted, crap. Hey tell Amy that Lauren says hi, that is a crazy small world. You are constantly in my prayers, brother.

Dying to Live,
Paul Artino
